Dr Manny Austin

Dr Manuela Austin qualified in London in 1988 and joined Corner Place Surgery in 1995 as a GP Partner. She is actively involved in our local Commissioning Group and shares the lead GP role for the Brixham and Paignton Locality, helping design services that meet the needs of local people. Dr Austin enjoys running and cycling and is particularly proud of twice completing the half-iron man challenge.

Dr John McGuinness

Dr McGuinness joined the surgery in 2022. He has a special interest in social prescribing, health inequalities and enjoys working with community organisations to improve the health of the local population. Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his young family, running and time outdoors.

Dr William Nolan

Dr Bill Nolan qualified in Dublin in 1985, he joined Corner Place Surgery following the merger with Withycombe Lodge Surgery in June 2017. Dr Nolan is a GP Trainer and Appraiser. He is married with 4 children and in his spare time, he enjoys hill walking and family time.

Dr Norman’s specialist interests are women's & children’s health as well as international medicine following a childhood growing up overseas. She has also worked in Australia as a GP. In her own time, she loves cooking, flower arranging & time outdoors with her family.

Dr Michael Philpott

With a particular interest in medical education, Dr Philpott is one of the practice’s medical student supervisors and works as a community sub-dean at Plymouth University Medical School. Areas of special interest includes care of older adults.

Outside of work, Dr Philpott enjoys scuba diving (ideally in warmer climates!), especially wreck diving.

Dr Stacey recently moved to Devon with her family. In her free time, she enjoys trail running and road cycling. When she is not working, she has a young son who she loves spending time with, and she is really enjoying exploring the South West Coastal path and the outdoor lifestyle that came with moving to the South West. Her specialist interest at work is women’s health.

Dr Stewart is a GP in South Devon as well as CEO and co-founder of Watercress Research Ltd. He holds an Honorary Clinical Associate Research Fellowship in Theoretical Medicine at The University of Exeter, alongside an NHS England Clinical Entrepreneur Fellowship, and a separate Mid Essex, Southend & Basildon Medical Innovation Fellowship. He is the President of Torbay & District Medical Society and came runner-up in 2019’s National GP Trainee of the year award. He has a consultancy company, and works as an out-of-hours GP for Devon Docs as part of the 111 service.

Dr Simon Tsang

Dr Simon Tsang qualified in Southampton in 2009, he re-joined Corner Place Surgery in October 2016, having previously been at the practice as a GP trainee. His special interests include general medicine, education and training. He is married and enjoys sports, music and exploring the great outdoors.
