NHS health checks
The NHS Health Check is a free check-up for adults in England aged 40 to 74.
It is designed to identify early signs of conditions such as heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, type 2 diabetes and dementia.
Who can have an NHS Health Check?
You may be eligible if you:
- are aged 40 to 74
- do not already have a diagnosed cardiovascular condition
- have not had an NHS Health Check within the last 5 years
What's included?
Your NHS Health Check may include:
- blood pressure measurement
- cholesterol testing
- height and weight measurements
- assessment of your risk of future health problems
