Prostate health
The prostate is a small gland that forms part of the male reproductive system. As men get older, the prostate can become enlarged and may cause urinary symptoms.
Prostate problems are common and can affect men in different ways.
Common prostate symptoms
You should seek medical advice if you notice:
- needing to urinate more often, especially at night
- difficulty starting urination
- a weak urine flow
- a feeling that your bladder is not emptying properly
- blood in your urine
These symptoms do not necessarily mean you have prostate cancer, but they should be discussed with a healthcare professional.
