Nominate a pharmacy
A nominated pharmacy is the pharmacy where your electronic prescriptions are sent.
Once your prescription has been approved, it will be sent directly to your chosen pharmacy, ready for them to prepare and dispense.
Why nominate a pharmacy?
Having a nominated pharmacy means:
- your prescriptions are sent directly to your chosen pharmacy
- repeat prescriptions can be managed more easily using online services
- you can choose the pharmacy that is most convenient for you
You can choose a local community pharmacy or an online pharmacy that delivers medication to your home
How to nominate a pharmacy
You can nominate or change your pharmacy:
- using the NHS App
- through your NHS account online
- by speaking to your pharmacy
- by contacting the surgery
Choosing the right pharmacy
You can choose any pharmacy that provides NHS prescription services.
This might be:
- a local pharmacy where you collect your medication in person
- an online pharmacy that delivers medication to your home
If you use an online pharmacy, please allow extra time for delivery.
Change or remove your nomination
You can change your nominated pharmacy at any time.
Any future prescriptions will be sent to your new nominated pharmacy once the change has been made.
